I wish these videos were auornd when I was a teenager. They are easily understood for teenagers without being boring. In these financial times kids need this kind of curricula taught from elementary school thru to high school .Thank you Jay. This is a tremendous blog , well written with intelligent ,understandable content for teenagers Max

Do some sex education too many kids are thiiknng oral sex is not sex, and is not dangerous, and ok to do. I'm talking middle school age. They call it hooking up. Kids are getting Venarial diseases that were nearly eradicated like gonnorhea, syphillus, and clamidia, not to mention the more recent things like HIV. Kids need to know this information, so they can make an informed decision, which is hopefully NO. Parents are not talking to their kids about sex so they learn from their friends, and what they are bombarded with everyday in magazines, tv commercials, music videos, etc (sex sells) so they say. They need to know this is not a casual sort of thing, and it's very important to be educated. Kids are not as dumb as we think they are, and keeping them in the dark is the stupidest thing we can do, so discussing these subjects in as age appropriate way as possible is essential for our kids in today's society. Get in to subjects about the real world things kids have to deal with these days, like global warming, poverty, what happens with lack of education, and apathy. Try not to get sucked up in the fashion skinny, beautiful, inappropriately dressed for the age, kind of thing. Teen mags, often get carried away with hollywood hype, and therefore are miss-informed about the real world, and how to be successful. Did you know parents are paying for their 18 year old daughters to have breast implants??? They are not even fully developed yet for one, and it's so shallow like telling your kid your not good enough to be successful the way you are, so you need big boobs, to get a good job, husband, etc How rediculous is that? Anyway, hopefully some food for thought. and good luck on the new magazine.added due to response below this one: I did not mention that whatever info you decide to discuss in your magazine, please make sure you do research your facts. The sex ed facts I stated, were directly from the Montel Williams show, and I have read about this problem in other reliable sources. It's important for teenagers to get the facts from sources other than their friends, and the local fad factory.

Let me just start this off saying I am a teen paernt. My son is three and I have been dating his father for over seven years. I definitely believe you about all the random hookups and yes even sex tapes. But I was a part of the impact program for teen moms and not one single girl in there was any of the girls from those stories. They were very focused on their children and growing up. None of them pawned their kid(s) off on there paernts and they didn't get pregnant on purpose. Yes maybe a bad judgment call but they nor have I messed up our lives.

Interesting topic even more interesting is obnsvrieg the reactions some teens have when it comes to child birth. At this age(teens), having a child should be the last thing on our minds, first before anything should be our education. I see teenage mothers/fathers or mothers/fathers-soon-to-be all the time walking the halls of VHS and I pity them. Either they purposely wanted a child for some bizarre reason or they made some bad choices when it came to contraception. Those are 2 types of teenage pregnancies, now here are the 2 types of teenage parent: either a ghettolicious hot mama and papa whom after high believe to live(mooch) off their parents and/or grandparents until the day they die or decide to contribute to society. Teen Parent number 2 is: the hopeful, ambitious, and smart student who dreams of doing something his/her life and yet one day decided to experiment with sex and ignorantly f%$^ed their lives up. In conclusion, if you are dumb enough to make such a decision such as unsafe sex then you don't need a parental chat you need a reality check, loser. ;]PS; thank you Beth for such a good topic.

Hey, Adam, don't you think the freshwater anglres of SJ would be better served by the State eliminating the trout stocking and focusing instead on enhancing the habitat and numbers of those species more natural to the region, like bass, crappie, and pickeral? Trout (and trout stamps) don't fit in slow-moving, warmer blackwater, except that the State can make a few extra bucks by convincing spring and fall Saturday anglres that they're really fishing with fly-rods and nymphs in the fast moving streamwaters of upstate New York.

I think now a days new technology helps the most of the socohl and college students more than others. With the best way to solve a case, settlements are proven to be the best course of action even for big companies like Facebook and Google. FTC or the Federal Trade Commission is tasked to investigate and watch over these companies about violation of privacy claims and other related violations. please keep posting about newer technology about IT and others for us.
